Tools per agent

Each agent gets the commands its role needs, the folders you give it, and only the tools you switch on for it.

Off until you switch it on

An agent’s Tools tab lists MCP servers, web search, fetching pages, a hidden browser and its CLI’s own built-in tools. Each one stays off until you switch it on, for that agent alone. List tools shows what a server’s tools do and how risky they are before you decide. Sign-ins and values for MCP servers stay in your system’s keychain.

Commands that fit the role

A new agent starts with the commands its role needs: git, the package manager and the tests, and a few read-only helpers. Builders can also push, and QA can open pull requests. Runs are headless, so anything that would need your approval is refused, and the Run panel shows what was.

A browser for testing

The hidden browser lets an agent open a web page and test it. It runs headless with a throwaway profile, so it never shows on your screen and never sees your own browser or logins. It’s how an agent can check a page before the card reaches you.

FAQ

Questions about tools

Which tools work with which CLI?

MCP servers and the hidden browser work with Claude Code. Codex has its own web search, and Gemini fetches pages. A tool a CLI can’t use shows switched off, with the reason.

What does the hidden browser need?

Node 20.19 or newer with npx, and Google Chrome or Chromium. The agent’s form says what is missing. GizAi installs none of it itself.

What if an agent needs a command it may not run?

The run refuses it, and the Run panel lists it under Refused in this run. For something like an install, the agent asks you to run it, through Run this for me in your Inbox.

Can an agent read my home folder?

No. Besides its worktree, an agent gets only the folders you give it, to read or to change. Your home folder, GizAi’s data and folders with keys are always refused.
